Lead complex Financial Lines claims for Definity using coverage analysis, legal negotiation, and investigation skills in a flexible hybrid work experience.
As a Complex Claim Director, you manage cyber liability, directors’ and officers’ liability, employment practices, fidelity and crime, and skilled liability claims. You evaluate moderate to high-severity matters, collaborate with claims and underwriting colleagues, and pursue strong customer service and results. Your legal expertise supports claim strategy and underwriting decisions.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct coverage analysis, investigations, negotiations, and claim resolutions
Prepare reports on loss development, exposure, coverage, and strategies
Coordinate recovery opportunities and efforts
Manage outside counsel,
litigation plans, budgets, and payments
Answer underwriting legal questions and draft reference materials
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor or LLB
Qualified practitioner of law in the employment province
French and English fluency with excellent communication skills
At least three years’ legal or claims experience
Financial Lines experience and strong negotiation skills preferred
