We are currently hiring a City Dispatch Trainee to join our Winnipeg Terminal team. Reporting to the Manager and Supervisor of Linehaul, this role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or advance their career in the transportation industry.
Location: Winnipeg Terminal
Schedule: Monday - Friday (days, afternoons & potential over nights)
Reports To: Manager and Supervisor of City
Duties And Responsibilities Will Include
- Plan and coordinate drivers and equipment for linehaul operations
- Communicate with drivers, terminals, and dock personnel
- Review previous shift activities and report irregularities
- Confirm bookings, manifests, and Bills of Lading
- Respond to phone inquiries and resolve operational issues
- Track incident reports and assist with follow-up
- Coordinate maintenance and assist with accident response when required
- Participate in safety initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of related experience is an asset
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, computerized office environment
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Experience with linehaul operations or freight handling is an asset
- Strong computer and telephone skills
