Overview

This position is initially offered as a fixed-term contract to cover a maternity leave. There may be an prospect for the successful candidate to transition into a permanent, full-time role, depending on future staffing needs and organizational requirements.

The Greenhouse Childcare Centre is looking for an experienced Centre Director to lead our program at Grace Baptist Church of Calgary.

Job Summary:

The Program Director provides leadership, oversight, and direction for the overall operation of The Greenhouse Childcare Centre, ensuring the delivery of a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate program for children in kindergarten to Grade 6. This role is responsible for managing daily operations, supervising and supporting staff, overseeing program planning and implementation, maintaining licensing compliance, and building positive relationships with children, families, and the community.

What You’ll Lead:

· Oversee the day-to-day operations and overall success of the centre.

· Lead, supervise, coach and develop a team of early childhood educators.

· Oversee the staff, schedule, enrollment, and centre operations.

· Ensure compliance with licensing requirements,



legislation, and centre policies.

· Oversee program planning, implementation, and evaluation to maintain developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and engaging programming.

· Manage administrative responsibilities, including staffing, enrolment, scheduling, and recordkeeping.

· Build positive relationships with families, school partners, licensing authorities, and the community.

· Monitor program quality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

· Perform other duties as required to support the effective operation of the centre.

What You’ll Bring:

· 1-5 years of experience in licensed childcare or early learning, including leadership or supervisory experience.

· Knowledge of childcare licensing, ratios, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.

· Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.

· Strong experience in leading and coaching others.

· Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Development, or Level 3 from a related field.

· First Aid & CPR, or willingness to obtain withing the required timeframe.

· Police Check and Vulnerable Sector Check

· Experience in childcare management, centre leadership or administration is a strong asset.

Hours Required:

Monday-Friday: 10:00-6:00 PM

38-40 hours per week.

*Hours may vary during PD days, School Breaks and Summer Days*

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week

Licence/Certification:

- Childcare Certificate; Level 3 (required)
