About the Role

We’re looking for a bold, creative, camera-confident Content Creator who knows how to grab attention, build an audience, and turn creative ideas into engaging social media content.

This isn't just a behind-the-scenes editing job. We want someone who is comfortable being the face and personality of our social media presence, creating entertaining, engaging, and memorable content for our cannabis retail store.

You'll have the creative freedom to develop your own concepts, experiment with trends, and build a recognizable presence associated with our brand.

Key Responsibilities

- Content Strategy: Develop creative social media strategies, content calendars, and fresh ideas to increase engagement, reach, and brand awareness.
- Content Creation: Plan, script, record, edit, and publish engaging Instagram Reels, Stories, and other short-form videos.
- On-Camera Presence: Confidently appear in videos, speak naturally on camera, and create content that captures attention within the first few seconds.
- Social Media Management: Manage our Instagram and other social accounts, including posting, captions, scheduling, engagement, and performance tracking.
- Trend Spotting: Stay ahead of social media trends, viral formats, storytelling techniques, and creative opportunities.
- Brand Representation: Become a recognizable personality associated with our store, helping build a genuine connection between the business and its audience.
- Creative Ownership: Independently handle the entire content process, from brainstorming and filming to editing and publishing.

- Naturally expressive, energetic, creative, and comfortable interacting with people.
- Strong understanding of Instagram algorithms, Reels, trends, hooks, and audience engagement.
- Skilled in video recording, editing, storytelling, and producing professional-looking content.
- Able to work independently and consistently deliver fresh content.
- Comfortable representing a cannabis retail brand publicly.
- Experience with Instagram, TikTok, CapCut, Canva, or similar creative tools is an asset.

We aren't looking for someone who simply posts pictures and videos. We're looking for someone who can make people stop scrolling.

You should be comfortable with attention, enjoy entertaining an audience, and have the personality to make ordinary moments interesting.

Creativity, confidence, originality, and the ability to connect with viewers matter more to us than formal qualifications.

Applicants must be comfortable creating content for a legal, age-restricted cannabis retail business. All content must follow applicable Ontario cannabis marketing regulations and social media platform policies.
