Cabinet Maker Job Description
We are a small custom cabinet shop located in Victoria, BC seeking a motivated, hardworking individual to oversee the creation of cabinetry from start to finish. To this end, the right individual will be responsible for hand-picking the most suitable materials, cutting, machining, construction, and installation of the cabinets.

Cabinet Maker Responsibilities:

- Selecting the appropriate materials, fittings, and tools for each task.
- Must have positive knowledge of a standard table saw, sliding table panel saw, edgebander, boring machine and other power and hand tools used in manufacturing cabinetry.
- Cutting materials to size, as needed.
- Planning an effective approach to work to ensure that each project is completed on time.
- Creating standard and custom components of cabinets.
- Gathering the elements of each cabinet and assembling the final product.
- Spray application of various finishes to cabinet doors and other components.
- Inspecting each completed cabinet to ensure that it has been constructed accurately, all hardware functions as it should and that the necessary finishes have been applied.




- Repairing elements of cabinets that have been sent in for servicing.
- Wearing the requisite clothing and taking necessary precautions to remain safe.
- Keeping a clean and safe work environment both in the shop and on client work sites.

Cabinet Maker Requirements:

- Attention to detail.
- Completion of a training program or apprenticeship will be advantageous but not a requirement.
- Min. 2-3 years’ experience is an asset.
- Good arithmetic skills.
- Able to read and comprehend drawings.
- Excellent team worker and customer service skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing workmanship.
- Physical fitness, including ease of movement and the capability to lift 50 pounds.
- Experience installing cabinets is an asset.
- CSA approved footwear.
- Small hand tools.
- Able to work overtime if needed.
- Clean BC drivers abstract.

Wage and Benefits:

- Wage dependent on experience.
- Comprehensive benefit plan after 3 months.
- Boot allowance.
- Overtime paid at 1.5X.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $34.00 per hour

Experience:
