Intervenor / Support Worker (DSW, CYW, SSW, CSW) – Deafblind Support

We provide support to Residential Programs, Day Programs, Community Settings, and Family Homes for children, youth, and adults with complex needs.

We are currently seeking skilled CYW, DSW, CSW, or SSW professionals to support a youth with CHARGE Syndrome and dual sensory loss (Deafblindness) in a family home and community setting in Welland.

Responsibilities

- Provide 1:1 support for a youth with CHARGE Syndrome and Deafblindness
- Use a Total Communication approach, including American Sign Language (ASL)
- Support daily routines, communication, and community participation
- Assist with G-Tube feeding
- Work collaboratively with families and support teams

Requirements

- CYW, DSW, CSW, SSW or related experience
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or complex needs
- Deafblind / Intervenor experience preferred
- ASL and Total Communication knowledge required
- G-Tube experience required
- Ability to work in family homes and community settings
- First Aid/CPR and Vulnerable Sector Check

Schedule

- After School: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Weekends: Day and afternoon shifts available

Qualifications:

- Completion of a CYW, DSW, CSW, SSW, Behaviour Sciences, Diploma or Degree from a recognized Community College or University
- Minimum of 2 years' direct work experience in social services with individuals with complex needs
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check with Broad Record Check
- CPR and First Aid certification (current)
- Certification in a recognized Crisis Intervention (current NVCI/SMG)
- Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated
- G class driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required
