Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable Labourer/Shingler to support roofing and construction projects. This hands-on role involves preparing work areas, assisting with shingle installation, handling materials, and helping the crew complete projects safely and to a high standard. Training and opportunities to build practical construction skills may be available.

Responsibilities

- Assist with installing, repairing, and replacing shingles and related roofing materials.
- Prepare job sites and protect surrounding areas before work begins.
- Carry, organize, and stage materials and tools for the crew.
- Use hand tools safely and appropriately; help maintain tools and equipment.
- Support basic carpentry tasks, including measuring, cutting, and fitting materials as directed.
- Apply caulking and other sealants where needed.
- Follow instructions, project plans, and safety procedures; assist with blueprint reading as required.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly,



and remove debris in accordance with site procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the crew and communicate hazards or concerns promptly.

Qualifications

- Construction experience is an asset; handyman experience or familiarity with roofing is also welcome.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, building materials, and safe work practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, and working outdoors at heights.
- Willingness to follow directions, learn recent skills, and work as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance, attention to detail, and a safety-conscious approach.
- Ability to read measurements and follow written or verbal instructions; blueprint reading experience is an advantage.

Pay: From $200.00 per day

Work Location: Hybrid remote in St. John's, NL A1N 3J6
