Pierce Family Vision

Waterloo

About Us:
We are an independent, family-owned optometry practice with 3 exam rooms, an extensive pre-testing diagnostic suite, and a modern frame gallery. Our clinic is built on deep community roots with over 40 years in Waterloo and a warm "family feel" among our staff. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional, personalized vision care to patients of all generations—from infants to seniors. If you love making genuine connections and working in a supportive, close-knit setting, you will feel right at home here.

Position Summary:
Because we are a close-knit team, this is a truly dynamic hybrid role. We are looking for an enthusiastic multi-tasker who will start by mastering our computer system and patient relations, learning our clinical pre-testing routine and eventually assisting patients in our modern frame gallery. No prior optometry experience? No problem! We provide comprehensive, hands-on training for every aspect of the job. However, because our office utilizes advanced technology and specialized clinical concepts, there is a lot to learn. We need someone who views a steep learning curve as an exciting career challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

- Patient Relations: Greet patients warmly, manage phones, schedule appointments, and navigate our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Clinical Pre-testing: Learn to operate our advanced diagnostic equipment to prepare patients of all ages for their exams with the optometrist.
- Optical Gallery Assistance:

Eventually learn to assist patients in selecting the perfect frames and lens options to suit their lifestyle and style preferences.
- Team Collaboration: Lend a helping hand to co-workers to keep the clinic flowing smoothly and maintain a welcoming environment.

What We Are Looking For:

- Exceptional communication skills and a natural flair for making people feel comfortable and cared for.
- A positive, helpful attitude directed toward both our patients and your fellow team members.
- A strong desire to learn and a genuine comfort with technology and fast-paced multi-tasking.
- Reliability, warmth, and a desire to build a long-term career in a family-oriented small business.

What We Offer:

- Full, paid training across all clinical and retail optical skills.
- A supportive, friendly, and stable work environment.
- Extended health care including vision care of course. Parking is provided.
- Monday to Friday, with 2 evenings but no Saturdays

To Apply:

We want to get to know the person behind the resume! Please submit your resume along with a brief note or cover letter telling us why a family-run clinic is the right fit for you, and how you handle the challenge of learning something completely new.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week

Benefits:
