SE Design has career opportunities for a Geomatics Technologist in our Cold Lake, Alberta office.
Position Description:
We are seeking a motivated individual who has a minimum of 5 years’ experience providing geomatics services for civil engineering works associated with subdivision and municipal projects.
Position Duties:
- Assist with drafting and calculations for construction surveys, such as preliminary topographic surveys, record plan survey, underground utility staking, and road construction staking.
- Conduct pile and construction grid line layout.
- Review and interpret plans and specifications for construction and legal survey projects.
- Carry out quality assurance/control tasks for construction projects. Handle general office responsibilities, data management, and survey drafting duties.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a recognized program in Geomatics Engineering or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of previous surveying experience at the Party Chief level is required.
- Strong working knowledge of survey equipment such as GPS and Total Stations.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office is essential.
- Previous experience with Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D would be beneficial.
- The capability to work independently as well as in a team and consistently deliver high-quality work.
- A positive work ethic and the ability to adapt to various projects.
- A strong commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a minimum of 4 years verified Canadian driving experience.
