CNC Machinist – Milling & Turning

Pay Rate: $30–$40 per hour
Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM–1:45 AM
Overtime: Available after 40 hours, with potential weekend opportunities

Job Overview

We are looking for experienced CNC Machinists to join our client's milling and turning departments. The successful candidates will have hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC machinery, interpreting technical drawings, and producing precision-machined components to meet strict quality standards.

Training will begin on the day shift before transitioning to the afternoon shift.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC milling and turning machines using CNC controls.
- Calibrate cutting tools, establish tool offsets, and make necessary adjustments.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to machine components accurately.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure products meet quality and dimensional standards.
- Maintain machinery in safe, productive working condition, including routine lubrication, cleaning, and coolant level checks.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including chip removal and maintaining clean work areas, floors, benches, and storage spaces.
- Properly clean, maintain, and store measuring instruments in accordance with company procedures and ISO standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments as required.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Previous experience setting up and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines.




- Experience operating Haas CNC machines is required.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, G-code, and M-code.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machining specifications.
- Experience working with castings is a major asset.
- Certificate of Qualification in machining is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Canadian machining experience is preferred.
