Position Title : Heavy Duty Mechanic

Kentucky Blue Grass has an amazing opportunity to be part of a dynamic work space. We are a lawn maintenance, landscaping and tree services company that specializes in commercial and industrial property maintenance. We service Edmonton and surrounding areas. We are looking for a Journeyman Heavy Duty mechanic that is highly energetic and has a great work attitude. You must be willing to work long hours when needed. Main Functions: Repair, inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul, maintain and service small gasoline and diesel-powered engines and equipment, heavy-duty equipment, trucks, trailers, commercial vehicles, and other related equipment and vehicles.

Duties:

· Inspect and examine machinery, equipment and vehicles to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions

· Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools

· Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmissions, engines, vacuums, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls in equipment and vehicles

· Operate machine tools such as welders and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul and maintenance

· Inspect motor in operation, road test vehicles, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults

· Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel systems, hydraulic systems, electrical, frame, cab, body, brakes, steering, axles, suspension, engine and drive train,



emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment

· Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups

· Test and adjust repaired equipment and vehicles for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications

· Service attachments and working tools such as buckets, power sweepers, rough cut decks, forks, aerators, and other equipment attachments

· Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of trailer systems including structural, brake and electrical systems

· Review replacement or repair costs and discuss work with supervisor when necessary

· Maintain maintenance and repair records

· Clean working areas and keep shop organized

· Order replacement parts, equipment, stock parts and shop supplies

Working Conditions:

· Work week and hours vary by season

· Constantly required to adjust to shifting priorities

· Full time work

* Note, We do not do snow removal

Employment Requirements:

· Journey Heavy Duty mechanic

· Communicate effectively with employees and management

· Strong understanding of the company’s safety, production and quality standards

· Driver’s license is required
