Title: Security Guard

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $20.40 - $21.93 per hour (based on levelling)

Site: Seneca Polytechnic - York Campus

Schedule: Various shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including weekends)

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Site Overview

Seneca Polytechnic's York Campus combines a vibrant academic environment with natural surroundings. The security team serves as a key community partner, supporting students, faculty, and visitors across health sciences, animal care, and community service programs. It is an inclusive setting where campus safety, hands-on learning, and professional growth go together.

What You'll Be Doing

- Conducting proactive patrols across academic buildings and campus grounds.

- Responding to medical and safety incidents with empathy, speed, and professionalism.

- Supporting safety for campus residences and community events.

- Liaising with municipal parks authorities and provincial bodies to maintain trail safety, including enforcing forestry and fishing safety guidelines.

- Working comfortably around campus farm animals, pets, and local wildlife.

- Managing access control, parking support, and lost and found operations.

- Collaborating closely with campus staff and local emergency responders.

Must Haves

- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.

- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider.

- High School Diploma.

- Legal authorization to work in Canada.

- Not currently enrolled as a Seneca student at the York Campus.

- Valid Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications (or willingness to complete Paladin's fully covered training program prior to onboarding).

- Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable attitude.

Nice-to-Haves

- Prior security experience in a post-secondary or healthcare setting.





- Comfort and interest in working outdoors and navigating trail environments.
