Job Title: Healthcare Security Guard

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Rate: $22.50 per hour

Site: Northumberland Hills Hospital

Schedule: Continental Days Only (07:00 - 19:00)

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Northumberland Hills Hospital serves a growing mixed urban and rural community of approximately 67,000 residents across west Northumberland County. Located in Cobourg, Ontario, this hospital provides a modern healthcare setting where security guards play an essential role in keeping patients, visitors, and medical staff safe every day.

What You'll Be Doing

- Conduct proactive interior and exterior security patrols, including during inclement weather.

- Respond to safety incidents, remain calm during emergencies, and apply verbal de-escalation techniques.

- Investigate routine incidents and complete clear, accurate reports by the end of your shift.

- Enforce parking rules, smoking regulations, site by-laws, and facility safety policies.

- Work closely with hospital staff and security management to support daily operational needs.

- Work effectively on your own or as part of a team, maintaining alertness while standing or sitting for up to 12 hours per shift.

Must Haves

- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.

- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Certification from a WSIB-approved provider.

- Legal authorization to work in Canada.

- Fluent oral and written English communication skills.

- Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check during onboarding.

- Ability to be clean-shaven to meet N95 mask fit test requirements.

- Proof of at least two COVID-19 vaccination doses and complete immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and 2-step TB skin test).

- Valid certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB), or willingness to complete Paladin's training program in Kingston,



Ontario prior to onboarding.

Nice-to-Haves

- 6+ months of healthcare security experience.

- 6+ months of customer service experience.
