J & C Commercial Cleaning Inc. is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Commercial Cleaner to join our team at Woodvale Church in Ottawa.
This position focuses on maintaining the main sanctuary, gathering spaces, cafeteria, and back-of-house areas.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys maintaining a clean and welcoming setting, and can work efficiently with minimal supervision.
About the Work Environment
This position is located at Woodvale Church, a Christian Pentecostal place of worship in Ottawa.
We are looking for individuals who are comfortable working in a faith-based environment and who will respect the church's traditions, values, and community.

Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain the main sanctuary and seating areas
- Vacuum carpets and clean hard-surface floors
- Clean the cafeteria and designated gathering spaces
- Wipe and disinfect tables, counters, and high-touch surfaces
- Clean designated back-of-house areas
- Empty garbage and recycling
- Clean assigned washrooms as required
- Prepare spaces for upcoming church services and events
- Follow detailed cleaning routines and checklists
- Use our employee app for shift check-ins and assigned tasks
- Report maintenance concerns and supply shortages
Requirements
- Previous commercial or institutional cleaning experience preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Availability for all three scheduled days, including Saturdays
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Comfortable using a smartphone for daily check-ins and cleaning checklists
- Ability to perform physical cleaning duties, including bending, lifting, and standing
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Willingness to complete a background check
