Food Counter Attendant – Part-Time Evening

Amarè Pastry Shop is looking for a reliable, organized, and friendly Part time Food Counter Attendant to join our team.

This role involves serving customers, preparing and serving coffee and espresso-based beverages, managing delivery orders, and completing all closing duties to ensure the store is clean, organized, and ready for the next day.

Pay: $17.95/hour
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
Schedule: Tuesday - Sunday

Responsibilities Customer Service & Counter Operations

- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
- Take customer orders and answer questions about menu items.
- Process cash and card payments using the POS system.
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, and espresso-based beverages.
- Operate and maintain the espresso machine and coffee equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming customer area.
- Answer incoming calls

Delivery Orders & Order Management

- Manage incoming Uber Eats and DoorDash orders.
- Prepare, package, and verify delivery orders for accuracy.
- Communicate with delivery drivers when necessary.
- Monitor delivery platforms and ensure orders are completed efficiently.
- Complete order management and closing procedures for delivery platforms.

Cleaning, Restocking & Food Safety

- Keep counters and food-preparation areas clean and sanitized.
- Restock cups, lids, spoons, napkins, bags, toppings, coffee supplies, and other essentials.
- Properly store products and ingredients at the end of the night.
- Check produce and ingredients for freshness and quality.
- Remove and dispose of food or produce that is no longer suitable for the following day.
- Clean and sanitize sinks, counters, and food-preparation areas.
- Wash used utensils and equipment.
- Clean coffee equipment and maintain the espresso station.




- Sweep and mop the store.
- Empty garbage bins and replace liners.

Closing Duties & Store Operations

- Complete closing cash and POS procedures.
- Ensure all Uber Eats and DoorDash orders are properly managed and closed out.
- Update the store board with items that are low, out of stock, or require preparation.
- Report inventory shortages, equipment issues, or other concerns to the owner or manager.
- Complete the final closing walkthrough.
- Ensure the store is properly secured and locked before leaving.

What We’re Looking For

- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Friendly and professional when interacting with customers.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Comfortable handling cash and operating a POS system.
- Comfortable using Uber Eats and DoorDash merchant apps or tablets.
- Able to multitask between in-store customers, coffee orders, dessert preparation, and delivery orders.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and attentive to cleanliness.
- Able to follow closing procedures and checklists.
- Willing to learn coffee preparation techniques and proper espresso machine operation.
- Previous barista, coffee shop, food service, or customer service experience is an asset.
- Previous experience preparing espresso-based beverages is an asset.

Important Information

- No baking is required for this position.
- Baking and major dessert production are handled by the owner.
- Training may be provided on store procedures, dessert preparation, and coffee equipment.

The main focus of this role is:

Serve Customers → Prepare Coffee & Espresso Drinks → Prepare Dessert Cups → Manage Delivery Orders → Clean → Restock → Report → Close & Secure the Store

Pay: $17.95 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
