Job Overview

We are hiring for a well-established food manufacturing company specializing in pizza, soups, and other food products, is seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Maintenance Helper to support the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment in their production facility.

This is a full-time, long-term prospect with room for growth.

Responsibilities

- Assist the Maintenance Technician with preventive maintenance and equipment repairs.
- Help troubleshoot mechanical issues on bakery production equipment.
- Perform routine inspections of production machinery and report equipment concerns.
- Assist with machine changeovers, adjustments, and minor repairs.
- Lubricate, clean, and maintain production equipment.
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and preventive maintenance documentation.
- Help ensure machinery is operating safely and efficiently.
- Support installation of replacement parts and basic equipment modifications.
- Assist with conveyor systems, mixers, dough processing equipment, ovens, packaging machines, cooling conveyors, slicers, wrapping machines, labelers, and other bakery production equipment.
- Keep maintenance shop and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow GMP, HACCP, food safety, and health & safety procedures.




- Assist production staff on the manufacturing line during busy periods or when maintenance duties are completed.
- Perform other general labour duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a manufacturing, food production, bakery, or industrial environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Experience assisting with industrial equipment maintenance is considered an asset.
- Ability to identify basic mechanical problems and communicate them effectively.
- Comfortable working around automated production equipment.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Experience working with equipment such as:

- Industrial mixers
- Dough handling equipment
- Conveyors
- Ovens
- Packaging machinery
- Compressors
- Basic electrical troubleshooting (asset)

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and willing to help wherever needed. This position requires someone who can support the maintenance department while also assisting production operations when necessary.

Pay: $26.00-$29.00 per hour
