Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Support clients with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness and promote mental well-being
- Monitor clients’ health status, report changes promptly,
and collaborate with healthcare professionals as needed
- Engage in safe lifting techniques when assisting with transfers or mobility, ensuring both client and caregiver safety
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living, home care, or nursing home environments is highly valued
- Robust background in patient care, senior care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities or dementia
- Knowledge of medication administration and basic nursing procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for client transfers or mobility assistance
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving
- Valid certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided if necessary
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed
