Overview

- We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Seafood Clerk to help keep the seafood department clean, well-stocked, and inviting.
- This hands-on role supports daily department operations, including product display, food preparation, packaging, and customer service.
- Applicants should be comfortable working around fresh seafood and following established food safety and sanitation practices.

Duties

- Greet customers, answer questions about seafood products, and provide courteous customer service.
- Prepare, portion, wrap, label, and package seafood according to department procedures.
- Maintain attractive product displays and replenish cases while monitoring freshness and product quality.
- Follow food handling, food safety, sanitation, and temperature-control requirements.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and equipment throughout the shift.
- Assist with inventory tasks, product rotation, and receiving or storing deliveries.




- Use knives and department equipment safely when performing food preparation or related cutting tasks.
- Work cooperatively with team members and follow department instructions.

Experience

- Previous food industry, food handling, or customer service experience is helpful.
- Food preparation or kitchen experience is a plus.
- Experience with butchery or meat cutting is beneficial; seafood-specific experience is welcome but not required.
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures and handle products carefully.
- Robust attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers and perform the physical tasks associated with the role.

Pay: From $18.50 per hour

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
