Job Summary

The Pharmacy Assistant supports pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing accurate, organized, and patient-focused pharmacy services. This role helps maintain medication inventory, prepare and process prescriptions under appropriate supervision, and support smooth daily operations. Hospital experience and pharmacy technician experience are helpful but not required.

Duties

- Assist with prescription intake, data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks under pharmacist supervision.
- Utilize the Fillware operating system for pharmacy operations
- Help organize, stock, and monitor medications and pharmacy supplies; report low stock or expired items.
- Support safe medication preparation and distribution according to established procedures and applicable regulations.
- Communicate courteously with patients and healthcare team members, directing clinical questions to the pharmacist.
- Assist with patient care tasks within the scope of the role, including gathering relevant information and supporting medication-related workflows.




- Use medical terminology appropriately when documenting or communicating pharmacy information.
- Follow privacy, infection-control, and medication-safety procedures.
- Keep work areas clean, orderly, and ready for daily operations.Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
- Interest in pharmacy services and a commitment to patient safety.
- Hospital experience and pharmacy technician experience are preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is an asset.
- Understanding of patient care and medication administration is beneficial; medication administration must be performed only when authorized, trained, and within the applicable scope of practice.
- Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and seek pharmacist guidance when needed.

Pay: $17.60-$23.45 per hour
