Privacy Officer

Permanent Full-Time

Pay Rate: $81,476 - $97,286 Annually

The Toronto Grace Health Centre (TGHC) provides specialized care and services to those individuals who require Complex Continuing Care, Post-Acute Care Rehabilitation, Palliative Care, and Transitional Care. The care and services provided at TGHC help facilitate patient flow through the health care system and ensure recovery for those individuals who may return to their homes or to Long Term Care (LTC) facilities in their communities. TGHC operates in 3 sites – the Main site (Church & Bloor St), Harbour Lights, and a Specialized Care Centre (Victoria Park & McNicoll. We are seeking a collaborative professional for a permanent full time opportunity to contribute to our purpose and values – the Privacy Officer - who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families. Responsibilities:

- Lead and maintain the hospital's privacy program, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with PHIPA and other applicable privacy legislation.
- Investigate privacy breaches, complaints, and incidents, and coordinate required reporting.




- Conduct privacy impact assessments and privacy audits.
- Provide privacy advice and guidance to leadership, physicians, staff, learners, and volunteers.
- Develop and deliver privacy education and awareness programs.
- Collaborate with Information Technology, Health Information Management, Legal, and operational leaders on privacy and information-sharing matters.
- Monitor privacy risks and prepare reports for senior leadership and the Board as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Health Information Management, Law, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare privacy, compliance, risk management, or health information management.
- Strong knowledge of PHIPA and healthcare privacy practices.
- CIPP/C, CIPM, CHIM, or similar privacy designation considered an asset.
- Privacy legislation expertise.
- Investigation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
