Overview

We are a North American Leader in the Fabrication sectors with operations across Canada, and the USA. We are a fully-integrated supplier of manufacturing and engineering services providing steel components and complex, high value-added assemblies for the agricultural, construction, mining, energy, heavy truck and industrial sectors.

The CNC Operator will be responsible for setting up and editing programs on CNC machines like Mori Seiki and OKK; as well as setting up all tooling for precision machining and precision check equipment.

The CNC Operator will report directly to the Production Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements and selects desired cutting program.
- Operate and monitor two CNC machines simultaneously, where feasible, while performing loading, unloading, quality checks, and job preparation to ensure secure, efficient production without compromising quality.
- Observes and monitors machine during process.
- Conducts ongoing visual inspection of parts before forwarding to next procedure.
- Measure workpiece dimensions to ensure accuracy.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from workpieces, if required.
- Identify opportunities for improvements.




- Follow strict quality control procedures.
- Follow good housekeeping practices.
- Follows and comply with all Operational Procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF, ISO 14001)
- Any other duties as assigned.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is an asset.
- Minimum 1 year experience.
- Ability to interpret blueprints / shop fabrication drawings.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable to work with large size components.
- Experience operating overhead crane equipment is an asset.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced workplace.
- Safety focused.
