Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced, creative, and agile Freelance Video Creator specializing in field capture for short-form social video (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) and brand photography.

In this role, you will focus strictly on the production phase: translating brand concepts into high-quality, trend-aligned raw video footage and photos on location. You will not be responsible for post-production editing, cutdowns, or motion graphics—our internal team handles the editing suite.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute dynamic, high-quality short-form video shoots (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) from concept briefs and shot lists.
- Capture sharp, lifestyle, and product imagery that aligns with specific client brand aesthetics and guidelines.
- Utilize strong composition, framing, movement, and natural/portable lighting to create engaging visual hooks.
- Organize and deliver raw footage,



alternate takes, and photography assets promptly via cloud storage following each shoot.
- Stay updated on emerging visual styles, camera transitions, framing techniques, and social video trends to elevate raw capture quality.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Proven portfolio demonstrating past short-form video capture and brand photography (applications without a portfolio/reel will not be evaluated).
- Deep knowledge of camera equipment (DSLR/Mirrorless or mobile rig setups), lighting setups, audio recording tools, and frame rate settings tailored for short-form video.
- Proven ability to work independently on location, direct non-actors/client staff when necessary, and meet strict project deadlines.
- Reliable transportation to travel to client sites around the Calgary area.

Note: Only applicants with a portfolio and reel-making experience will be considered.

This is a freelance/contract role; pay is issued upon the successful completion and approval of each video asset.

Pay: $200.00-$1,000.00 per week
