Mechanical Support | Vehicle Maintenance | Fleet Operations

Pay: $20.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience

City Sightseeing Toronto (Urban Inc.) is looking for a hands-on, mechanically inclined individual to join our fleet maintenance team at our facility near Cherry Beach in Toronto's Port Lands.

We operate a diverse fleet of buses, coaches, and specialty vehicles. This position offers an opportunity to gain practical experience working with commercial vehicles while assisting our maintenance team with vehicle upkeep, routine maintenance, cleaning, and general fleet operations.

We're particularly interested in candidates who have some mechanical experience, enjoy working with tools, and are comfortable taking on a variety of practical tasks.

What You'll Do

- Assist licensed mechanics with vehicle maintenance and repair activities, including preparing tools and parts, performing permitted routine maintenance tasks, and providing general workshop support
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance, including checking and topping up fluids, changing oil and filters, and other tasks within the permitted scope of the position
- Assist with vehicle inspections and identifying maintenance needs




- Support minor bodywork, fabrication, and other maintenance projects within the permitted scope of the position
- Clean and prepare buses for daily service, including interior and exterior cleaning
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the garage, yard, tools, and equipment
- Move and position vehicles within the yard when appropriately licensed and authorized
- Assist with general fleet operations and other duties as required
- Follow established safety procedures and promptly report vehicle defects or hazards

All work requiring trade certification will be performed by appropriately qualified personnel.

What We're Looking For

- Some practical mechanical experience or a strong mechanical background
- Familiarity with engines, vehicle components, and basic maintenance procedures
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Experience working on cars, trucks, buses, or other mechanical equipment
- Willingness to perform vehicle cleaning, yard work, and other general support duties
- Physically capable of lifting, bending, standing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Availability to work weekends when required

Additional assets include:





- Welding or metal fabrication experience
- Automotive bodywork or collision repair experience
- Experience with diesel engines or heavy-duty vehicles
- Previous employment in a mechanical workshop, garage, or fleet maintenance workplace
- Valid driver's licence

A formal mechanic's licence is not required. We welcome applicants with practical, hands-on mechanical experience who are interested in developing their skills further.

Schedule & Location

- Full-time and part-time positions available
- Eight-hour shifts, with weekend work as required
- Located near Cherry Beach in Toronto's Port Lands
- Work performed in our garage, vehicle yard, and outdoor areas
