Our client is a newly approved Charter School that opened a not-for-profit high school this past Fall. It has been created to re-engage young people who need a different way to finish school and move forward with confidence. Their model combines a high school diploma pathway with real-world vocational training; giving students the skills and confidence they need to launch into meaningful careers.

They are looking for teachers who believe every young person deserves the chance at success and who aren’t afraid to do things differently to make it happen. If you are a teacher who builds relationships before lesson plans, who thrives on creative problem-solving and who wants your work to matter beyond the classroom walls; this role could be for you!

What You’ll Do:

· Plan and deliver engaging programs aligned to the Alberta Curriculum

· Build genuine relationships with students, families and the broader school community

· Monitor student progress and contribute to Individual Learning Plans and Career Pathway plans

· Uphold a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment

What You’ll Bring:

· A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

· A bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent

· Experience with or passion for working with disengaged youth

· Strong relationship-building skills and a student-centred teaching style

· High standards of professionalism, communication and integrity

· The role focuses on changing the story for students who struggled in traditional schools. You will plan with purpose, teach with energy and assess with care.

This is an exciting chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of young Calgarians and be a part of building something new from the ground up. A competitive salary and benefits package is offered.
