BC Certification for the following teaching position: Port Hardy Secondary School, Port Hardy, BC

0.43 FTE Temporary - ELL (2 blocks)

Commencing: ASAP to June 30, 2026

or return of the incumbent, whichever comes first

- completion of a Bachelor of Education;
- certification by or eligible to become BC certified by the BC Teacher Certification Branch;
- university coursework and experience in assessing and working with learners in ELL programs;
- strong classroom management skills;
- the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies;
- the ability and desire to work closely with staff in a team-oriented approach to teaching and learning;
- robust interest in innovation and inquiry; and
- ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices.

The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $64,368 to $112,637,



with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The Remote Recruitment and Retention allowance is available for SD85 teachers payable at $3,035 over ten months.
