Job Description:

As part of a smaller organization you will be expected to wear many hats and the role will vary from project to project as follows.

- Smaller projects: oversee the complete project, including execution of all aspects (design / engineering, preparation of arrangement / shop fabrication drawings, schedule and budget)

- Larger projects: oversee the complete project, with internal support for portions of the activities. Example, you prepare design, another team member prepares drawing under your supervision which includes drawing checking.

- Support for larger projects: you provide support (design, producing or checking drawings) on a project being overseen by another team member.

In addition, the execution of projects, grow into a position of being actively involved with the decision making regarding the future direction of the company.

Examples of our projects include platform and railing design, stair towers, residential steel projects, large metal platework / equipment, support structures, and piping design / layout. We also accept other unique projects that benefit from our practical engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Draft detailed plans using AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD Advance Steel for steel components, including platforms, railings, residential structures, and large platework.
- Generate 3D models, fabrication / erection drawings, and material lists.
- Manage small projects: coordinate timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Assist colleagues with drawing quality control: review for accuracy,



standards compliance, and consistency.
- Collaborate with engineers and managers to interpret specs, incorporate feedback, and meet codes / regulations. Correspond with customers on technical aspects of projects to ensure work is meeting customer requirements.

· Design and layout piping systems with knowledge of Autodesk Plant 3D, including isometric drawings, orthographic views, and integration with structural elements a plus.

Requirements:

- Diploma/degree/certificate in Drafting, CAD, or Engineering.
- 5+ years in CAD drafting, ideally steel detailing / structural engineering.
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and Advance Steel; knowledge of Revit / AutoCAD AEC software package and Plant 3D a plus.
- Fluid and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to decipher technical drawings and blueprints to extract critical data, ensuring exact project scope and execution.
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings to determine comprehensive project scope and requirements.
- Strong grasp of steel structures, AISC, OSHA, IBC standards, platform / railing design, residential projects, and platework.
- Project management, strong critical thinking, ability to work independently on tasks, problem-solving, and teamwork.
