Full time POSITION SUMMARY

The Controller is the accounting lead for Sonance Financial and is responsible for owning the books, monthly close, reconciliations, consolidated reporting, audit readiness, accounting controls, and integration of newly acquired entities. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for a technically strong accounting operator who can maintain accurate books across multiple entities, currencies, and reporting frameworks while building scalable close and reconciliation processes. The Controller must be able to explain financial statement variances, enforce balance sheet discipline, manage intercompany accounting, oversee junior accounting team members, and ensure the company produces complete, accurate, review-ready financial statements within 15 business days of month-end. The ideal candidate has experience in financial services, wealth management, investment advisory, or another regulated / multi-entity environment, with strong command of NetSuite, intercompany transactions, multi-currency accounting, IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and audit support. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Success in this role looks like a finance function that simply works. In your first few months, you’ll have a firm grip on the books and the close calendar; before long, each month’s close runs on a predictable rhythm and lands on the VP of Finance’s desk complete, accurate, and ready for final approval, so they can focus their energy on strategy and growth instead of being pulled into accounting issues. Behind that clean monthly handoff is a team that’s clicking:

the junior accountants own the day-to-day data entry and transaction processing with confidence, growing sharper under your coaching, while you own the things only the Controller can: separation of duties, enforcement of accounting policy, and the discipline of our processes. Over time, your team doesn’t just get better; they stay, and they grow into larger roles as the company does. The result is books that are right the first time, audits that come and go without fire drills, and reporting that leadership can trust enough to act on. And as Sonance grows and brings on new entities, the accounting operation scales right alongside it, staying reliable, repeatable, and audit ready. In a PE-backed business, that kind of clean, dependable financial reporting isn’t just good housekeeping; it’s what builds enterprise value and positions the company for its next chapter.
