As a CNC Machinist, you will set up, operate, and optimize CNC milling equipment in a 3
- to 5-axis machine shop, producing high-precision components to tight tolerances. You will interpret blueprints and GD&T; requirements, adjust machining parameters, and verify part quality using a range of precision measuring tools, contributing directly to the accuracy and reliability of finished parts.

Responsibilities

Review blueprints, drawings, specifications, and sample parts to determine machining requirements and the optimal sequence of operations. Set up and operate CNC milling machines, including 3
- to 5-axis equipment, to produce high-precision components. Select and install appropriate tooling, inserts, fixtures, boring bars, and other workholding devices required for each job. Set and adjust speeds, feeds, tool offsets, and work offsets to maintain machining accuracy and surface finish quality.

Read, interpret, and make edits to FANUC G-code programs to optimize machining processes and resolve issues at the machine. Use Mastercam or similar CAM software experience (where applicable) to support programming and process improvements. Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet customer specifications and tight tolerances using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread gauges, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment.

Interpret blueprints and GD&T; requirements to confirm dimensional accuracy and feature relationships. Complete First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 standards and document results accurately. Perform machine setups, including zeroing workpieces, aligning fixtures, and verifying tool lengths and diameters. Monitor machines during operation,

identify abnormalities such as tool wear or vibration, and make appropriate adjustments.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in and around CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment. Collaborate with team members, programmers, and supervisors to troubleshoot machining challenges and improve processes. Handle vertical milling operations and work with equipment such as Haas and Mazak machines as required. Follow established quality procedures and shop practices to ensure consistent, repeatable production results.

Essential Skills 35 years of CNC machining experience in a production or job-shop environment. Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines, including 3
- to 5-axis mills. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and schematics. Strong working knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Ability to read, interpret, and edit FANUC G-code programs at the machine control. Experience with CNC machine setup, including tooling selection, fixture setup, and work offset setting.

Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges, and thread gauges. Ability to perform First Article Inspections (FAI) to AS9102 standards. Experience with vertical milling operations in a CNC environment. Strong troubleshooting skills to adjust feeds, speeds,

and offsets to maintain quality and efficiency. Additional Skills & Qualifications Programming experience, including Mastercam or similar CAM software, is an asset. Experience with Haas CNC machines is an advantage.

Exposure to Mazak machines and related controls is beneficial. Background with both CNC mills and CNC lathes is an asset. Comfort working with CAM workflows and optimizing toolpaths. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in a precision machining environment. Why Work Here? You will join a modern, precision-focused machine shop that values craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

The organization supports your well-being with a competitive perks package in the first six months, including dental, vision, and extended healthcare coverage, as well as an RRSP program.
