Responsibilities

- Architect, implement, optimize, and own scalable consumer-facing web capabilities connected to the platform’s 3D functionality.
- Own complex technology roadmaps and make technical trade-offs clear while addressing novel engineering problems.
- Provide technical direction, mentoring, code reviews, design-document reviews, and technical leadership for distributed engineering teams without direct people management.
- Partner with Product Managers, designers, leadership, service teams, and external partners to translate customer and product goals into technical solutions.
- Design and evolve frontend architectures, APIs, distributed systems, microservices integrations, performance, observability, code quality, and test automation.
- Build integrated customer journeys across online and in-store channels.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of recent hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript frontend development and React or equivalent component frameworks.
- At least 8 years engineering substantial full-stack web codebases in production, including systems at scale and frontend, backend, API, data, and infrastructure integration.
- At least 3 years providing technical leadership for small engineering teams of 3–6 engineers, including mentoring, technical direction, hiring support, and improving engineering effectiveness.




- At least 5 years designing and shipping complex distributed systems involving API design, microservices integration, performance-critical architectures, and production ownership.
- Strong computer science, software engineering, structured problem-solving, modern full-stack web, DevOps, observability, testing, and quality foundations.
- Backend experience with Node, Python, Java, .NET, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with consumer internet applications and connecting technical decisions to customer and business outcomes is strongly desired.
- Advanced English proficiency is required for work with US clients; the ability to adjust meeting availability for Europe is required, and an Eastern Time location is preferred.
- Experience in distributed, asynchronous, high-ownership, startup, or product environments is preferred.
- Appreciation for consumer experience, visual aesthetics, and product quality is preferred.
- Experience with 3D graphics technologies and consumer retail e-commerce applications is a nice-to-have.
