The Security Guard supports STEGH’s Security team in a healthcare setting. Responsibilities include preventative patrols, alarm monitoring, investigations, report writing, and emergency response. The position assists clinical teams with potentially aggressive patients and supports Human Resources with employee-related needs. Collaboration with security and switchboard dispatchers is required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide a protected environment for patients, staff, and visitors
- Conduct preventative patrols and monitor alarms
- Respond to emergencies and investigate security incidents




- Assist clinical teams during potentially aggressive patient situations
- Write detailed reports and support dispatchers as required

Requirements:

- Valid Ontario Security Guard license required
- Post-secondary diploma in law, security, police, or protection studies
- Basic Life Support certification required
- Non-violent crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation skills
- Knowledge of legislation, Mental Health Act, and Fire Code
