The Vice President of Business Development is a senior leadership role responsible for setting the strategic direction, structure, and performance expectations of the Business Development and Marketing departments. The individual in this role leads the team that creates awareness, generates qualified construction opportunities, cultivates key industry relationships, responds to all requests for qualifications, bids, and/or proposals, and assures the company's growth targets are achieved across all identified sectors. Reporting directly to the President, the VP is employed by Shockey Management Company and is accountable for team leadership, pipeline health, revenue generation, and brand positioning in the marketplace.RequirementsKey ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor all members of the business development and marketing teamsDevelop and execute the company’s go-to-market strategy across sectors and geographiesWork with senior leadership to set revenue targets, KPIs, and departmental goals aligned with overall business strategyServe as a high-level relationship builder with key clients, developers, architects, and strategic partnersOversee all prospecting, lead generation, and pursuit strategies, working with senior leadership to ensure strong alignment with internal operationsGuide development of responses, proposals, interviews, and client presentations for all pursuitsEvaluate market trends and lead internal discussions to shift focus, resources, or sectors as neededMaintain a company-wide business development dashboard with real-time pipeline visibilityMaintain an understanding of broad economic indicators and commodity pricing influencing construction costs and material availabilityCollaborate closely with estimating, preconstruction,
