Support surgical patients as a Registered Practical Nurse using scrub nurse expertise and perioperative care within Halton Healthcare’s interprofessional team.

This permanent part-time RPN position serves surgical patients across all operating room services. The successful candidate uses the nursing process, advocates throughout perioperative experiences, and follows College of Nurses of Ontario standards alongside Halton Healthcare policies. The role requires rotating Monday-to-Sunday shifts, with days, evenings, and on-call coverage as operational needs require.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide perioperative patient care for surgical patients
- Perform the scrub nurse role across all services
- Participate actively as a member of the surgical team




- Advocate for patients throughout their perioperative experience
- Practice according to applicable nursing and hospital standards

Requirements:

- Current College of Nurses of Ontario registration in valuable standing
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification at hire
- Operating room certification and two years’ scrub experience
- Technical operating room skills meeting AORN or ORNAC standards
- Ability to lift, transfer, and turn patients safely
