St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton welcomes eligible nursing students to its Enhanced Extern Program. You will develop competencies, gain patient care experience, and prepare for a future registered role. Work includes day, evening, night, and weekend shifts based on availability and unit needs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist patients with feeding, toileting, bathing, and dressing
- Support mobility, positioning, transfers, and ambulation
- Take vital signs, height, and weight measurements
- Report patient status changes and safety concerns
- Document care and notify supervising healthcare professionals

Requirements:

- Enrollment in an eligible nursing program
- Current Basic Life Support certificate
- Evidence of good academic standing
- Successful recent clinical placement learning experiences
- Ability to work required twelve-hour shifts
