Lead accounting operations at Strait Regional Centre for Education, applying financial controls and analysis from Central Office, Monday through Friday. Support accurate payments, budgets, reconciliations, and reporting for Nova Scotia’s public education system.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager oversees accounts payable and school-based funds accounting. The position requires accounting knowledge, analytics, controls, and strong Microsoft Excel skills. You will monitor expenditures, communicate month-end results, and assist with the annual budget.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage accounts payable staff and school-based funds accountant
- Oversee invoice payment processes and vendor payment accuracy
- Review school-based accounting records and bank reconciliations
- Analyze expenditures, general ledger accounts,



and fund balances
- Communicate month-end results and risks to Senior Administration

Requirements:

- Five years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration with accounting concentration
- Robust accounting, analytics, controls, and Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Technology aptitude; SAP experience and public-sector standards understanding desirable
- Ability to manage sensitive information and communicate with senior management
