Set up and operate mills and lathes as a Machinist IV in Edmonton, Alberta, supporting SPM Oil & Gas on the evening shift.

SPM Oil & Gas, a Caterpillar company, seeks a Machinist IV to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. You will interpret blueprints, calculate machining controls, and verify finished workpieces against specifications. The schedule is currently Monday through Friday, 3:30 PM to midnight.

Key Responsibilities:

- Study drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts
- Set up conventional lathes, mills, and boring mills
- Select fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials
- Adjust controls to maintain accurate machining operations
- Identify worn tooling and perform required daily preventive maintenance

Requirements:

- Mechanical aptitude and basic plant machinery knowledge
- Basic knowledge of critical safety devices
- Ability to complete work-related documents accurately
- Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions
- Three-plus years’ experience or equivalent education and training
