Position: Cleaner Location: Kapuskasing, ON

GreenFirst is looking for a Sawmill Cleaner to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a reliable, safety-minded individual who enjoys hands-on work in an industrial environment. As a Sawmill Cleaner, you’ll help keep our operation clean and safe while supporting day-to-day mill activities. You’ll also have the opportunity to train on entry-level production positions and provide relief support when needed.

Responsibilities

- Clean and maintain designated areas of the sawmill, including floors, walkways, work areas.
- Sweep, shovel, and remove sawdust, wood debris, and other materials as required.
- Empty garbage containers and dispose of waste in designated areas.
- Use cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor.
- Perform other cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Perform fire watch duties for maintenance hot work.




- Be trained on entry level operator positions to be a relief on production when needed.
- 3-week rotating Schedule (Day: 7am-3pm, Night: 11pm-7am, Evening: 3pm-11pm).
- Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Physically capable of performing manual cleaning duties, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and shovelling.
- Comfortable working in an industrial environment with exposure to sawdust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Solid awareness of workplace health and safety practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely around industrial equipment.
- Previous industrial or commercial cleaning experience is considered an asset.
- Experience working in a sawmill or other industrial setting is an asset.

Starting Hourly Wage: $28.05/hour.

Il s’agit d’une excellente opportunité pour une personne fiable, soucieuse de la sécurité et appréciant le travail manuel dans un environnement industriel. En tant que nettoyeur de scierie, vous contribuerez à maintenir la propreté et la sécurité de notre site tout en apportant votre soutien aux activités quotidiennes de la scierie. Vous aurez également l’occasion de vous former à des postes de production de niveau débutant et d’assurer des remplacements en cas de besoin.
