Operate graders and heavy equipment for the Government of Yukon in Whitehorse and other Yukon locations. Support safe highway maintenance with a Class 1 licence.

As a Heavy Equipment Operator II with Highways and Public Works, you will support construction and maintenance across Yukon. The work includes highways, recreational roads, airstrips, and other facilities. You will operate graders, tractor-trailers, dump trucks, loaders, and other light or heavy equipment while following safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate graders for highway and facility maintenance
- Operate tractor-trailers and wide-ranging heavy equipment
- Support construction and maintenance across Yukon
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
- Perform minor equipment servicing and maintenance

Requirements:

- Extensive grader operating experience
- Experience operating dump trucks, loaders, or other equipment
- Experience greasing, adjusting brakes, and changing filters
- Yukon Class 1 driver’s licence with air endorsement
- Ability to work in adverse weather and travel territorially
