Advance neuroscience research at UBC Vancouver Campus through immunohistochemistry and animal-model studies of excitotoxicity in neurodegenerative disease.
Working with Dr. Ujendra Kumar, the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will investigate Alzheimer’s disease mechanisms and related cellular and molecular biology. Research includes validating biomarkers, testing small-molecule therapeutics, and evaluating cannabinoid and somatostatin effects. The lab also screens herbal compounds in breast cancer models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assigned research projects on excitotoxicity
- Validate biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease models
- Test small-molecule therapeutics in animal models
- Evaluate cannabinoid and somatostatin effects
- Collaborate with partners and present findings
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field
- Expertise in neuroscience and cellular molecular biology
- Proficiency in immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy
- Experience with cell culture and in vivo models
- Solid scientific writing skills
Apply neuroscience, molecular biology, and research skills to Alzheimer’s disease studies under Dr. Kumar’s direction.
