Vancouver Coastal Health seeks a Communicable Disease Nurse in Vancouver, BC, applying public health nursing and communicable disease expertise.

Working on the Communicable Disease Control team, the Registered Nurse provides follow-up for cases, contacts, outbreaks, and STBBIs. The position includes screening, assessment, investigation, surveillance, education, counselling, prevention, and action planning. Work supports clients across wide-ranging settings, including outreach services for vulnerable and marginalized clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide public health follow-up for reportable communicable diseases
- Investigate cases, contacts, outbreaks, and emerging pathogens
- Deliver screening, assessment, education, counselling, and surveillance




- Collaborate with Medical Health Officers and healthcare providers
- Provide referrals, prevention, and harm reduction support

Requirements:

- Current Registered Nurse registration with BCCNM
- Completed BCCDC Immunization Competency Course
- Current BCCNM STI Certification in Reproductive Health
- Two years’ recent related public health clinical experience
- Valid British Columbia driver’s licence and personal vehicle access
