Our goal is to help patients take control of their health so that they can prevent disease and maintain wellness.Guelph Medical Imaging is seeking a qualified Medical Radiation Technologist to join our team for a permanent part-time position.JOB SUMMARY:Perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating x-ray equipment to make radiographs (x-ray images) while providing a protected and comforting environment for the patient.RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform and record daily Quality Control and Quality Assurance proceduresRecord repeat/reject analysisPrepare patients for Radiology exam by explaining the procedureComfort and monitor the patientConfirm both patient birth date and referring physician for each patientPosition the patient and the equipment correctlyEnsure the patient and others are protected from radiationAssist the radiologist when needed and operate the equipment to obtain quality imagesRecord and process dataMaintain a clean working environment; follow Universal HealthPrecautionsAcquire and document patient medical clinical history if none providedAll other tasks as required.QUALIFICATIONS:Educational requirements:Must be a current member of the CMRTOMember of CAMRT preferredCurrent CPR certificationWHMIS trainingComputer proficiency:Technologist must be comfortable with the use of computers for the use with the digital x-ray equipment aswell as RIS/, PACS and email.Conditions of Employment:Effective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to coordinate with other staff when patient has multiple examinationsMaintain professional relationships with patients and fellow co-workersMaintain excellent work and attendance recordComply with Guelph Medical Imaging Policy and Procedure ManualJob Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: $35.00-$45.00 per hourBenefits:Dental careExtended health careLife insuranceOn-site parkingVision careExperience:X-Ray: 1 year (preferred)Work Location: In person
