The Faculty of Engineering seeks a regular part-time professor for AMM5119, Section A, during the 2027 Winter Semester. The three-credit course examines fracture behavior in elastic and plastic media, crack propagation, fatigue, and probabilistic fracture. The expected enrolment is 60 students, with 39 work hours scheduled.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Fracture Mechanics during the 2027 Winter Semester
- Address stress concentration in elastic and plastic media
- Cover crack resistance, compliance, and the J-integral
- Explain fatigue, stress corrosion cracking, and creep fracture
- Deliver Tuesday evening classes in person
Requirements:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering specializing in materials
- Solid background in materials science and manufacturing
- Background in mechanical engineering
