We’re a lean, results-oriented team that values sharp thinking and strong execution. The Role The M&A; Origination Associate is a part-time, remote contract role. You’ll identify founder-owned businesses that may be considering growth, succession or a sale, start conversations with their owners, and introduce qualified opportunities to our team. You’ll work directly with the founder and see deals move from first conversation to close. Open to candidates anywhere in Canada or the United States. What you’ll do
• Research markets and industries to find promising founder-owned businesses
• Reach out to owners and start conversations
• Run a first look at each company’s fit before introducing it to our team




• Introduce qualified owners and sit in on owner calls
• See how live sell-side processes are run, from first call to close What you’ll learn
• How lower middle market deals are sourced, run and closed
• How to approach and talk to business owners about selling
• Optional training sessions and direct mentorship from advisors What we’re looking for
• Finance, sales or business development professionals, and students interested in M&A;
• Comfortable with cold outreach and talking to business owners
• Basic financial literacy; you can read a company’s numbers and spot a good fit
• Interest or experience in M&A;, private equity, investment banking or corporate development
• Excellent written and spoken English; French is an asset
• Self-starter who works well independently Commitment
