Provide nursing care at Satellite Health Facility in Hamilton Downtown, using clinical assessment and collaboration across rotating day and night shifts. Support protected care for patients awaiting community services.
As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will care for less complex clients with predictable outcomes and low risk for negative outcomes. The role supports health promotion, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care. You will recognize changing acuity, consult Registered Nurses, and work with an interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities: Provide supportive, preventive, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitation nursing care
Assess client needs and promote or maintain optimal function
Recognize changes in acuity or complexity promptly




Consult Registered Nurses when determining next care steps
Collaborate with RNs to provide safe, effective care
Requirements: Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Accredited practical nursing education with IV medication preparation
Current BCLS/HCP certification
Knowledge of senior care, transfers, lifts, and clinical assessment
Effective communication, organization, and basic computer skills
Bring practical nursing expertise, focused assessment, and collaborative care to patients at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Satellite Health Facility.
