Compass Minerals is hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic for its mechanical evaporation plant in Unity. The role supports equipment uptime through inspections, routine trade activities, and repairs across engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, drivetrain, electrical, and vehicle management systems. It also includes environmental controls, structural components, and attachments.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain tools and equipment during general maintenance activities
Diagnose and repair engines and engine support systems
Repair hydraulic, hydrostatic, and pneumatic systems




Diagnose drivetrain, steering, suspension, and brake systems
Repair electrical and electronic vehicle management systems
Requirements: Journeyperson certificate in Heavy Duty or Agricultural Mechanic
Valid driver’s license
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
