Support critical care patients at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto as a Clinical Assistant using patient care and communication skills. This permanent part time position works with a multidisciplinary team under RN supervision.
The Clinical Assistant provides basic patient support and indirect care in the Medical/Surgical ICU. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, feeding, admissions, discharges, and assistive devices. The role also involves monitoring patients, communicating measurements, and supporting cardiac arrest response.
Key Responsibilities: Support patients during entry, admission, and discharge
Assist with hygiene, feeding, and daily living activities
Provide one-to-one constant patient care when required




Answer call lights and round on patients
Measure intake and output, communicating results to RNs
Requirements: Recognized HCA or PSW certificate with at least 625 hours
Current BLS certificate
Recent clinical assistant experience in a hospital setting
Recent experience in a critical care unit
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Bring critical care experience, patient support skills, and dependable communication to the Medical/Surgical ICU team in Toronto.
