Cyber underwriting and analytical skills meet Markel Canada’s Toronto team in this Associate Underwriter position. Work closely with the AVP of Cyber across Canada.
As an Associate Underwriter, you will support Cyber, Technology, and Fintech underwriting within Markel Canada’s TCF team. The position involves current business and renewals, broker relationships, underwriting tools, coverage forms, policy language, and Canadian regulations. You will also contribute to strategy, processes, products, and special projects.
Key Responsibilities: Implement underwriting strategy across new and renewal business
Improve underwriting administration, processes, and data quality
Develop relationships with existing and new brokers
Apply authority, guideline,



and risk management controls
Attend broker meetings and travel as required
Requirements: Detailed understanding of the insurance market
One to three years of Cyber, Tech E&O;, or Fintech experience
Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills
Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
Up to 25% travel; bilingual ability preferred
Bring analytical underwriting, technology insurance, and broker relationship skills to Markel Canada’s Toronto-based TCF team.
