South Country Co-op seeks a Meat Clerk for its Taber Food Store. Reporting to the Meat Manager, you will package, price, merchandise, and display meat, poultry, and seafood products. The position emphasizes customer service, cleanliness, food safety, and accurate department operations. Retail experience in meat or deli is preferred, while Meat Cutter training may support advancement.
Key Responsibilities: Provide customer service and cooking recommendations
Maintain stocked displays of fresh and frozen products
Wrap, weigh, label, and price meat accurately
Prepare sausage and hamburger patties
Replenish stock, rotate products, and report shortages
Requirements: Be at least 15 years of age
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
Meat or deli retail experience preferred
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Evening and weekend availability required
Bring customer focus, food safety awareness, and accurate product handling to South Country Co-op’s Taber meat department.
