Practise general surgery at Grande Prairie Regional Hospital as a full time Associate Physician using critical thinking and collaborative care. Work under surgeon supervision within Alberta Health Services.
This Associate Physician supports the General Surgery program at a 250-bed acute care facility. The position involves current Associate Physician theory and practice, patient assessment, pre-operative preparation, and inpatient care planning. You will collaborate with surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams while supporting surgical procedures and clinical services.
Key Responsibilities: Complete admissions and assess patients’ medical needs
Order and perform selected diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
Plan care and discharge throughout hospitalization




Prepare patients for surgery and perform directed assessments
Assist with procedures, equipment, committees, and department projects
Requirements: Current Alberta Limited Practice Register Clinical Assistant license
Active ACSAP application or eligibility with initiated application
Comprehensive knowledge of Associate Physician theory and practice
Recent critical illness management experience preferred
Canadian health system and Canadian surgery training preferred
