Vancouver Coastal Health seeks a Registered Nurse to plan pre-operative and post-operative care for secondary, tertiary, and quaternary surgical patients. Working within a patient and family centred framework, you will assess complex risks, collaborate with Anaesthesiologists, and coordinate interdisciplinary referrals. The position supports preparation for surgery, discharge planning, and transitions to alternate sites or programs.
Key Responsibilities: Assess and plan pre-operative and post-operative surgical patient care
Assess complex risks before the day of surgery




Collaborate with Anaesthesiologists and interdisciplinary team members
Educate patients and families to minimize surgical anxiety
Participate in committees, teams, and approved research projects
Requirements: Current Registered Nurse registration with BCCNM
Two years of recent related acute care experience
Experience in tertiary and surgical care environments
Experience across multiple surgical services
Ability to communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Support complex surgical care through assessment, education, collaboration, and thoughtful transitions at Vancouver General Hospital.
