Support patient and staff safety at Gorge Road Hospital as an Environmental Services Worker using specialized cleaning equipment and machines. This casual role is based in Victoria, British Columbia.
Working with Vancouver Island Health Authority, you will perform light and heavy cleaning duties throughout the hospital. The position requires communication, effective interactions, and physical ability. Your work includes maintaining cleanliness through established policies and procedures while supporting Island Health’s commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities: Perform light and heavy cleaning duties
Dust, vacuum, shampoo, wash, mop, strip, polish, and wipe
Use specialized equipment, tools, and machines
Make beds according to established procedures
Empty garbage in accordance with policies
Requirements: Grade 10 or equivalent education, training, and experience
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Deal effectively with others
Demonstrate physical ability to perform position duties
Complete a required Criminal Record Check
Bring reliable cleaning, communication, and physical abilities to environmental services supporting safety at Gorge Road Hospital.
